The Real Her

It is becoming a bit cold here in Potsdam, New York. Well actually, the weather has been pretty bipolar. One day its 30 degrees and some days it feels like 55 degrees, what is a girl to do! I am emotionally attached to this leather jacket. My mom bought it for me my junior year in high school and it was totally different from all the other girls in school. To me it was more grown up and sophisticated than their faux leather jackets. Now I am dying to get my hands on a edgy faux leather motorcycle jacket. However, I still love my first leather jacket, it now has a worn look and feel and it is still so comfy. Although, it is not warm enough to wear in the current weather conditions I believe it was the perfect addition to this look. What say you? Do you have any clothing that you cherish?

Ugly Duckling

This was one of those days my friend did not feel like taking my picture.
I took so many, at least 30, and these are the only pictures I like.
Ha, most of the pictures are me being extremely goofy making unflattering faces.
But I thought my makeup looked really cute.

This is one of my laid back looks. I used to be the girl who just reached for sweatpants and a baggy shirt. Now, the first thing I reach for is a s skirt or a dress. My mom always said wearing a dress is much easier you slide it on and take it off. It is true..mother knows best.

Bossy Lady

Hey Creeps!
I clean up nice don't I??
My professional business fraternity Alpha Kappa Psi recently took professional portraits. What do you think? I know my hair is totally unprofessional, however I am the only one in my fraternity with a creative career path so I am the exception. Usually, this is not what I would wear as professional business wear but I would call it business casual. Remember, you can never have too many crisp whit button downs.

I really just wanted to share the photography. Ashley is a phenomenal photographer and she does amazing portraits. Please check out her link, and if you are in the St. Lawrence county area you should most definitely try to work with her.

Pumpkin Spice

As you can see I love October. Just kidding, I did not intentionally dress like a jack o lantern, but I am so excited for Halloween. However, October is also Hispanic Heritage Month which as you may not know is my culture. I always celebrate my culture, but I love it when universities embrace celebrations like this.

Although, this skirt is one of my summer staples I decided to transition it into fall. As much as I love wearing dark colors I am trying to spice up my wardrobe. I love having accents or pops of color, not necessarily brights. My style has been evolving and I think writing this blog has had plenty to do with it. Sharing looks with men and women as well as reading your lovely comments encourages me to step out and try new things.  Thank you for your inspiration!

PS Would you creeps like one beauty post a week??

Only the blind follow me....

First and foremost, how do you like my new shoes?
I love them! When I was in 8th grade my mom had bought me my first pair of sequin shoes. They were rainbow colored and fabulous, I wore them until the sequins started falling off. Over the summer I went crazy searching for the perfect sequined ballet flat but I could not find any. However, two weeks ago I was perusing the DSW website and found these babies. I am so glad I found them, not only are they comfy but can be dressed up or down.

Also, I want to take the time out to discuss basics. The long sleeve shirt I am wearing is from Old Navy and is super soft and comfy. I will admit I am addicted to Old Navy and the Gap, I always hit the jackpot when I shop there especially for basic essentials. Not to mention they are both super affordable and of good quality. I would advise anyone to head on over to Old Navy and pick up a few of these long sleeve tees, you will not be disappointed.

Lastly, I want to apologize for such a delayed update. I have been drowning in school work and fraternity meetings. Not to mention I am beginning the tedious process of applying to graduate school! If you have any advice please do share. I accept all words of wisdom and encouragement.

I hope you are enjoying the beginning of October. Ready for Halloween yet??
